Colombia vs Chile Match Preview
Colombia kicked off their Copa America campaign with a great 2-0 win over Argentina and built on the success in narrow clashes against Qatar (1-0) and Paraguay (1-0) to top the Group B with nine points to their name as well as great confidence especially at the back.
Los Cafeteros have kept clean sheets on all of those occasions and now have a streak of five wins with no goals conceded, which surely makes Carlos Queiroz’ task to lift their team spirits an easy one. They’ve been rock-solid and shown off as one of the favourites to lift the Trophy, as they meet Chile for their Quarter-finals lash over the weekend.
Chile kicked it off just as convincingly as they outclassed Japan (4-0) and secured the top 2 spot with a 1-2 win over Ecuador, where the rivals coped really well but Alexis Sanchez’ early second-half goal proved enough for all three points. They’ve seen the streak ended, though, and now have to recuperate quickly.
Indeed, Uruguay turned a narrow clash their way with a late winner from Edinson Cavani to top the Group C, ending La Roja’s four-match winning streak across competitions. They will possibly need even more to overcome their Quarter-finals quest and we don’t see them up to the task.
We will thus back Colombia to build on their fine performance and make their way to the semi-finals regardless of a tough challenge Chile surely pose at this point, as we go for them to win at an enticing 6/5 with bet365 and hope to see more of the same from them.
Los Cafeteros have been very tough to score against but we still hope to see goals on the day, with goals on both ends. We feel Colombia will have what it takes to outgun the rivals and with that in mind, we’re also going for Over 2.5 Goals FT at 6/4 with Paddy Power.
