Club Brugge vs LASK Linz Match Preview
LASK Linz have seen great support from the home crowd on their Champions League Play-offs debut as they hosted Club Brugge last week but still fell victims in a 0-1 loss, where a single goal from the spot made all the difference and has them travelling to Jan Breydelstadion in search of an upset to overturn the contest.
Popular Die Laskler have lost on their consistency but they’ve bounced to the winning ways as they bagged an important Bundesliga win over Rapid Wien (1-2), as Marko Raguz netted the last-gasp winner. Valerien Ismael will now hope his men can build on the success here but we feel they’re in for another very tough challenge.
Club Brugge have a ten-match unbeaten streak behind them and they’ve only seen a four-match winning streak at this ground ended in a goalless draw against AS Eupen. They’ve been tough to score against and kept clean sheets on all of the last three occasions, which will have them hoping for more of the same now.
Blue and Blacks will be able to take their time as LASK have to go for a goal, so we don’t feel they’ll want to employ an attacking approach from the first whistle. We thus hope not to see many goals now either and we feel this could be a tough deadlock to break on Wednesday evening.
We will still back Club Brugge to punch their ticket to the Group Stage with a Home win here, which comes at 3/4 with Coral and still looks the best approach to the fixture as we hope to see them capitalizing on open spaces behind the visitors’ back line.
We still hope to see them base such a success on another tough defensive display before anything else and with that in mind, we’re also sticking with Club Brugge to keep a clean sheet – which comes at 27/20 with Coral and has caught the eye of many value seekers as their sixth in seven outings across competitions.
