Portland Timbers take on yet another in a series of MLS trips early in the new campaign as they’re hosted by league newcomers Cincinnati on Sunday, still looking for their first win after snatching a point in a thriller at Colorado Rapids (3-3) and seeing a 4-1 loss at Los Angeles FC.

Timbers have been all over the place on some occasions early on it feels and Giovanni Savarese will be looking for a better defensive setup at Nippert Stadium, desperate for points and a pick-me-up. They have had troubles performing on the road last term and this could be more worrying, with nine more trips to go before their first home game.

Cincinnati open the competition in front of the home fans on Sunday and will be just as motivated for the important points, after seeing a convincing 4-1 loss to Seattle Sounders and snatching a point at Atlanta United (1-1) with a late equalizer from Roland Lamah.

Alan Koch’s men will now want more and we hope to see them very motivated to impress led by Fanendo Adi up front, who made a switch from the Timbers midway through the 2018 campaign. We thus hope for an exciting challenge and a thriller contest in Ohio, as both sides need confidence boosters early on.

We don’t feel we’ll see a winner on the day, though, and we’ll back the sides to share the spoils in a Draw priced at 12/5 with Paddy Power – which would surely see no one too happy about it amid an unpredictable start of the campaign on both ends.
