Chile vs Argentina Match Preview
After meeting for Copa America 3rd place Play-offs in Brazil just months ago, where Albiceleste bagged a 2-1 win and earned a medal, Chile and Argentina meet of their friendly clash in Los Angeles looking to build on consistency and pick up their team spirits late in the year.
La Roja have lost on their goalscoring consistency at Copa America and this has proven costly, as they suffered a Group stage loss to Uruguay (0-1), edged past Colombia on penalties after a goalless draw and saw their campaign end in a thrashing 3-0 loss to Peru. This will make the late-2019 friendlies all the more important and Reinaldo Rueda will surely emphasize it.
Argentina made it to the semi-finals only to lose 2-0 to Brazil and while they’ve been in seemingly better shape, it hardly brought the fruits Leo Scaloni’s men had wanted. They will be without Leo Messi, Sergio Aguero, or Angel Di Maria and this could mean Paulo Dybala leads the attacking line.
Albiceleste have been scoring numbers of goals on the regular and found the net at least two times in three of their last four outings. Building on such records will be crucial despite a tough schedule September through October and we expect them very motivated moving forward at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum too.
We will now back Argentina to another narrow win over the fierce rivals, going for them to secure their fourth win in five outings but with just a one-goal Winning Margin in Los Angeles. We have seen them enjoy such clashes lately and they should be able to prove such a character once again.
Still, we hope to see goals on both ends and with that in mind, we’ll also go for Over 2.5 Goals FT. We’ve seen three or more goals in three of the sides’ last five head-to-head clashes, which does feel like further evidence for such a bet with no high stakes involved this time around.
