Chicago Fire vs Vancouver Whitecaps Match Preview
Vancouver Whitecaps have struggled to score goals on the regular early in the new campaign and travel to Chicago for their Saturday’s clash with just one point to their name after five matches played, looking to finally end the unwanted streak and escape the bottom of the Western Conference table.
What kicked off with a misguided panenka penalty-kick from Ali Adnan ended up as the fourth loss for Whitecaps last week, as Daniel Steres and Zlatan Ibrahimovic found the net for LA Galaxy to snatch all three points at BC Place. This was the third time his men failed to find the net in four occasions and Marc Dos Santos now surely has a lot on his mind.
Chicago Fire can boast no great consistency themselves but they have been scoring goals, as they finally picked it up over the past two weeks – bagging four points in clashes against New York RB (1-0) and Toronto FC (2-2). C.J. Sapong has been leading the line up front and he’ll now want to build on his three-goal tally early on.
Men in Red have been conceding numbers of goals on the regular too and while this could be more worrying for the crowd at SeatGeek Stadium, it promises an exciting occasion on the day. We have been used to just that between the sides over the past couple of years and now hope for more of the same.
We will still back Chicago Fire to capitalize on the rivals’ woes and bag all three points, where they could make the top 7 cut early on and a Home win looks like the best way to approach the fixture at this point.
However, we don’t see them securing the points without conceding and with that in mind, we’re now also sticking with a Yes on Both teams to score. Men in Red have felt shaky at the back on many occasions and this should turn this one into a thriller after all.
