Chicago Fire vs Seattle Sounders Match Preview

Seattle Sounders travel to Bridgeview looking to build on a two-match winning streak early in the new MLS campaign, where they bagged important home points against Cincinnati (4-1) and Colorado Rapids (2-0) and surely lifted their team spirits ahead of the trip.

Sounders have had more struggles for consistency on the road but building on solid goalscoring records will be a crucial task, led primarily by in-form Raul Mario Ruidiaz up front. They don’t really have a long history of success at this ground, though, and Brian Schmetzer’s men will have a lot to prove on the day.

Chicago Fire have, on the other hand, kicked it off with a 2-1 loss at LA Galaxy where an opener from Charles Sapong proved nothing more than a consolation. They’ve found it hard to bounce back and secured just a point in a 1-1 draw against Orlando last week, where Sapong found a last-gasp equalizer!

Men in Red will now want to prove their character at SeatGeek and pushing for a top 7 spot in Eastern Conference will largely depend on performances here, just as much against in-form rivals. They have been scoring numbers of goals on the regular here last term and will want to keep it up now.

We do feel Fire will show off as a tough nut to crack and with that in mind, we’re sticking with shared spoils and a Draw priced at 12/5 with Paddy Power. Sounders will be no easy target and boast a great mood but we don’t see them snatching all three on the day.

We feel Men in Red will have to cope in the final third in order to hold off the rivals and we’ll thus go for a Yes on Both teams to score – which comes at 8/13 with William Hill and has seen many big hitters lumping already.
