Chicago Fire vs New York Red Bulls Match Preview
Chicago Fire have seen their stadium change names but nothing new has been going on as the crowd hoped for a fresh start, as Veljko Paunovic’s men earned just one point in three outings. They now host New York Red Bulls looking for their first win of the season but should be in for another tough challenge on Saturday.
Men in Red have seen a narrow 2-1 loss at LA Galaxy and struggled to bounce back from it here, as they saw Orlando City (1-1) snatch a point and Sounders (2-4) take all three in a six-goal thriller. They’ve struggled to keep it together and turned the ball over once too often, which will see them desperate for defensive stability now.
New York Red Bulls, on the other hand, kicked off the new campaign with a convincing 4-1 win over SJ Earthquakes as goals from Muyl (x2), Wright-Phillips, and Royer completed second-half comeback. They’ve gone on to suffered a 0-1 loss to Orlando, though, and now have to recuperate quickly ahead of the trip to Illinois.
Red Bulls have indeed struggled on the road late last term and this could be worrying too, as Chris Armas struggles to find a consistent flow of goals up front. They will now hope to capitalize on the rivals’ woes early on and snatch important points, building on a 0-1 August win here with a single goal from Wright-Phillips.
We don’t see a winner on the day, though, and we’ll now rather stick our necks out for the sides to share the spoils in a Draw priced at 12/5 with bet365. We have seen them struggling to keep it together at the back and this should see both get less than what they’ve hoped for.
Indeed, we expect goals and with that in mind, we’ll now also go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 6/10 with Paddy Power. We thus hope for thrills at SeatGeek Stadium and this has been rated banker material by many in the know already.
