Chelsea’s first season under the guidance of Maurizio Sarri has had plenty of ups and downs. Although performances in the Premier League have taken poor turns at times and a title race has not been a possibility since the first few months of the season, the Londoners still have the opportunity to secure a top four finish in their own hands and they’re now favourites to reach the Europa League final after a first-leg away draw with Frankfurt in midweek.

That 1-1 result in Germany was the Blues’ third consecutive draw in all competitions but with the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal dropping points in the Premier League, they can come into their final two games against Watford and Leicester City knowing that six points will be enough to secure their spot in the Champions League next season. Watford have two opportunities to secure a spot in next season’s Europa League. The Hornets are in the final of the FA Cup later this month where they will take on potential domestic treble winners Manchester City, but if they were to lose that match at Wembley Stadium then the team finishing in seventh place in the Premier League table will enter Europe and that’s still a possibility for Javi Gracia’s side.

After starting the season in terrific form but slowing up slightly in the second half of the campaign, the Spanish boss can be delighted with the progress made by his side overall this season, particularly after many backed them for relegation at the start of the campaign. Having lost three of their last four away games in the Premier League (the other being a victory at already-relegated Huddersfield), three points here do seem unlikely, hence odds of 15/2 with PaddyPower.

Watford are always good for a goal though and in players like Gerard Deulofeu and Troy Deeney they will cause a threat to most defences in the league.
