Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur Match Preview

A dramatic finish could be in store as Chelsea try to overturn their 1-0 deficit to Tottenham and book a place in the Carabao Cup Final against Manchester City.

Harry Kane’s penalty for Spurs was the only goal of the first leg, in which Chelsea were the better side in the second half especially, but the England captain will miss this match due to an ankle injury.

Tottenham, who have Heung-min Son away on international duty, also have fitness doubts over Dele Alli, Moussa Sissoko and Lucas Moura, so their ability to score at Stamford Bridge could be significantly compromised.

Chelsea will hope to be as dominant as they were in that second 45 minutes at Wembley but to carry more goal threat, and their players will surely have been stung by the criticism of their mental attitude by manager Maurizio Sarri following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Arsenal.

If the aggregate scores are level at the end of 90 minutes on Thursday, the tie will go straight to a penalty shootout, no extra time, regardless of away goals scored and we are backing that to be the outcome – with Chelsea also carrying our money to come out on top at any stage.
