Chelsea vs Liverpool Match Preview
Chelsea made it two quite disappointing outings last week, as they saw Bayern Munich (0-3) earn a three-goal advantage in their Champions League clash and only snatched a point at Bournemouth (2-2) with a late equalizer from Marcos Alonso – who thus bagged a brace at Vitality Stadium.
Blues now host Premier League pace-setters Liverpool for their FA Cup clash looking to put it all behind them, hoping to finally regain consistency in front of the home fans in search of a ticket to the Quarter-finals. Frank Lampard has struggled to find a cure for their defensive slip-ups, though, and this will be more worrying.
Liverpool have seen trouble of their own and while they have a huge gap in hand, seeing their first Premier League loss this term at Watford (3-0) over the weekend will be disappointing. They now saw two losses in three games and only beat West Ham (3-2) with a comeback from behind, which could have Jurgen Klopp on alert.
Reds saw a Champions League loss at Atletico Madrid (1-0) beforehand with a 14-match unbeaten streak ended, which makes picking it up ahead of the return a must. A replay would make a tough schedule tougher and they will surely hope to impress at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday already.
We don’t see them untangling it here, though, and we’ll now rather stick our necks out for a Draw at 16/5 with bet365. We hope to see a very tough contest in London and while we should be in for excitement, we might need the replay.
Both sides have struggled to really keep it together at the back lately and we’ll now go for another exciting game with goals despite the high stakes involved. We’ll thus back a Yes on Both teams to score, which comes at 4/6 with bet365!
