Chelsea vs Dynamo Kiev Match Preview
Chelsea have rediscovered their fine form after suffering in a hard-fought League Cup Final loss in the hands of Manchester City (on penalties after a goalless draw), hosting Dynamo Kiev for the first leg of their Europa League clash in an attempt to build on a two-match winning streak and earn an advantage.
Blues have beaten Tottenham (2-0) in an important battle for points in top 4 chase and built on it with a narrow 1-2 win at Fulham, where goals from Gonzalo Higuain and Jorginho proved enough for the points at Craven Cottage. Maurizio Sarri shouldn’t have troubles to lift their team spirits now and we expect them very motivated to impress.
Dynamo Kiev travel to London on the back of a six-match unbeaten and they’ll want to prove themselves a tough nut to crack now as well, beating Olympiakos Piraeus (1-0), Zorya (5-0), and Desna (1-2) in their last three outings. They’ve been scoring goals on the regular and finding the net will be a crucial task.
Dynamo have had more troubles turning clashes their way on the road and although they have a five-match unbeaten streak too, bagging just two wins (1-2 at Valerenga and already mentioned win at Desna) will be more of a food for thought as Aleksandr Khatskevich works on their defensive consistency.
We will back Chelsea to bag an advantage ahead of their trip to Ukraine and we’ll go for a Home win to Nil at Evens with Paddy Power, which would be their fifth clean sheet in six home outings across competitions.
We have seen Gonzalo Higuain in good shape against Fulham and he’ll surely be desperate to find his consistency in the final third under Sarri, as we now also back him to lead the attacking line and find the net anytime at 10/11 with William Hill.
