Charlton vs Nottingham Forest Match Preview
Charlton Athletic have been rock-solid this term and although they have now lost on their consistency with League Cup disappointment, they still have a three-match unbeaten streak in Championship to build on as they host Nottingham Forest for their Matchday 4 clash on Wednesday evening.
Addicks bagged six points in early-season clashes against Blackburn (1-2) and Stoke (3-19 but suffered a League Cup loss to Forest Green Rangers (on penalties after a goalless draw). They’ve only bounced back with a very late equalizer in a 2-2 draw at Barnsley now behind them and doing more in front of the home fans will be a crucial task for Lee Bowyer’s men.
Nottingham haven’t really seen as good a start and only kicked off the new campaign with a 1-2 loss to West Brom, which made the 1-1 draw snatched at Leeds a deal every fan would take in the blink of an eye. Still, they’ve built on it with two wins over the past week and will now want more of the same in London.
Tricky Trees have beaten Fleetwood Town (1-0) in League Cup and managed a 3-0 win over Birmingham City in Championship, where Joe Lolley, Lewis Grabban, and Michael Dawson all made it on the scoresheet. They now have ground to build on and they’ll surely be motivated to do so at the Valley.
However, we feel Charlton will have what it takes to bounce and put on a solid display in front of the home fans, which has us going for a Home win at an eye-catching 7/4 with Unibet – which feels like more than just a lively longshot at this point.
We have seen them scoring and conceding on the regular, though, and this gives a feeling they will have to outgun the rivals to secure the points. With that in mind, we’re going for a Yes on Both teams to score and backing it at 4/5 with Ladbrokes, which seems like value for those hoping for an exciting contest.
