Celtic vs Valencia Match Preview

Celtic are well on course for a treble Treble in Scotland, but the Europa League will be much harder to win and they face a difficult task in the round-of-32 against Valencia.

The Hoops already have the League Cup in the bag and are in good shape to land a clean sweep of trophies north of the border for a third consecutive season, which has never been achieved before.

However, they still have some way to go before they can truly match up to the continent’s best teams and after scraping into the Europa League knockout phase, Valencia may present too stern a test for them.

Brendan Rodgers’ side lost their last group-stage match against Red Bull Salzburg but were done a huge favour by their old rivals Rosenborg, whose draw away to RB Leipzig was enough to send Celtic through.

Valencia have dropped into this competition from the Champions League, in which they finished off with a 2-1 home victory over Manchester United within the last seven days of Jose Mourinho’s reign.

Los Che have improved considerably since making a sluggish start to the campaign and having lost only one of their last nine games, and held Barcelona at Camp Nou already this month, they are backed to win in Glasgow.
