Celtic vs Rangers Match Preview
Celtic have been furious lately and hope to build on the winning streak with a busy schedule on their hands, hosting Rangers for their Matchday 21 clash just days after their trip to Paisley. They’ve been in great shape in front of the home fans and will surely want to build on the gap behind them, now sitting five points clear of Gers – who do have a game in hand.
Bhoys have beaten Hibernian (2-0), Hearts (0-2), and Aberdeen (2-1) in their last three outings but they also bagged 15 wins in 16 games across competitions with only Cluj (2-1) interrupting the streak when they already had the Europa League Group E top spot in the bag. They haven’t been denied points at Celtic Park this term and we’ll surely see them very motivated to build on the perfect run.
Rangers, on the other hand, saw a more unpredictable December and this saw them fall just short of a League Cup trophy, as Celtic snatched it with a single goal from Christopher Jullien at Hampden Park. They were held off by Aberdeen (2-2) and Young Boys (1-1) too, which was only put behind them more recently.
Indeed, Gers beat Motherwell (0-2) and Hibernian (0-3) with confidence and they come into their mid-week clash against Kilmarnock in great shape. They’ve been scoring numbers of goals on the regular and showing off in the final third could prove crucial, despite an ambition to be hard to play against here.
We don’t see them snatching points now either, though, and we’ll now back Celtic to their third win in three head-to-head clashes this term – which comes at 23/20 with William Hill and feels like the best approach to the fixture at this point.
Still, Rangers will hardly be sitting ducks and we do expect an intense contest once again. We thus hope to see more goals between the sides this time around and we’ll go for Over 2.5 Goals FT at 10/11 with bet365, expecting in-form attacking lines on both ends.
