Celta Vigo host Espanyol for their mid-week clash on the back of a goalless draw at Atletico Madrid they’ll surely be happy about, despite seeing their four-match winless streak extended – where they also snatched a point at Sevilla (1-1) and suffered a 0-2 home loss to Granada in La Liga.

Celticos have obviously struggled to turn clashes their way but have finally looked solid at the back last week, which does promise them in a good mood. They’ve beaten Valencia (1-0) with such an approach here earlier this term and Fran Escriba will hope for a similar quest from his men on the day.

Espanyol have, quite interestingly, been tougher to beat on the road early in the new campaign. They’ve earned three wins and two draws in five trips across competitions and will now surely be very motivated for an upset at Abanca-Balaidos as well, despite last snatching a win here back in 2007.

RCDE have also seen a disappointment over the weekend as Real Sociedad (1-3) bagged a comfortable win with goals from Willian Jose (x2) and Alexander Isak. They’ve obviously struggled to keep it together at the back and this will feel very worrying at this point, as David Gallego’s men look for an upset.

We don’t see them making it happen, though, and we’ll now rather back Celta Vigo to capitalize on the visitors’ defensive woes. We’ll back Celticos to win at 17/20 with bet365, which does seem like great value at the moment.

We have seen Celta enjoy some narrow clashes lately but we expect Espanyol in a good mood moving forward, which should make it an exciting contest.
