Cardiff appear to be stuck in a losing rut that will lead to relegation – and another defeat looks set to come their way against West Ham.

The Bluebirds’ results improved in the immediate aftermath of the Emiliano Sala tragedy as they beat Bournemouth and Southampton, but subsequently they have regressed significantly and sustained decisive losses to Watford, Everton and Wolves.

Those defeats have left Neil Warnock’s side with only Southampton currently within striking distance of them as they try to escape the drop zone, and a victory soon is vital if Cardiff are to give themselves a real chance of staying up.

However, it will not be easy to achieve against a West Ham side who have overcome a blip in the second half of January with some good recent results, although there is a nagging worry that Manuel Pellegrini’s side are considerably more effective at home.

Nevertheless, the Hammers are faring much better than Cardiff at present whatever the venue, and an away win simply has to be the bet here also taking into account the head-to-head record (see above).
