Cameroon vs Ghana Match Preview
Cameroon saw their three-match winning streak ended by Mali (1-1) just ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations but they bounced to it when it mattered, as they opened their campaign with a 2-0 win over Guinea-Bissau and now meet Ghana for their Matchday 2 clash in great spirits.
Indomitable Lions have beaten Comoros (3-0), Zambia (2-1), and Spanish Segunda side Alcorcon (0-11) to extend a five-match unbeaten streak across competitions, which gives Clarence Seedorf a lot to build on in Egypt. They’ll now surely want to make a statement and we expect them just as motivated to bag a top 2 spot.
Ghana have, on the other hand, been denied in a thrilling 2-2 draw against Benin as John Boye got sent off early in the second half and they failed to respond, as the rivals netted an equalizer just after the hour mark and kept hold of an important point in an upset orchestrated by Mickael Pote.
Black Stars have struggled for consistency ahead of the tournament and the goalless draw against South Africa just ahead of the trip to Egypt could give a glimpse of troubles, which will be worrying as well. They now need more and it’s questionable if they have what it takes to outgun in-form Cameroon.
We don’t feel they have and we’ll now stick our necks out for the sides to share the spoils at Ismailia Stadium, going for a Draw at 15/8 with MyBet and hoping to see a lot left to play for on the final day of the group stage.
We should still be in for goals and excitement, as we see both sides scoring goals on the regular and enjoying an attacking approach to their fixtures. With that in mind, we’re now also backing a Yes on Both teams to score, which comes at 6/5 with Hamabet.
