Caen vs PSG Match Preview
Paris Saint-Germain travel to Caen for their Matchday 27 Ligue 1 clash, just days after outclassing Dijon (3-0) in their mid-week Coupe de France clash as Angel Di Maria netted a brace and Thomas Meunier added a late goal to make it a very comfortable contest at Parc des Princes.
PSG have thus extended a seven-match winning streak across competitions where they kept six clean sheets too, beating Man United (0-2) in Champions League along the way and making a step towards the next round in the process. Thomas Tuchel has set up a rock-solid defensive line and it’s tough to see Caen interrupt such a spell.
Caen come into the match after a mid-week clash of their own, where they take on Lyon on Wednesday evening looking to end a four-match winless streak, having seen losses to Amiens (1-0), Caen (0-1) and earned two points in clashes against Strasbourg (0-0) and Toulouse (1-1).
SMC have seen goalscoring woes in front of the home fans which will come off even more worrying than such a streak, where Fabien Mercadal’s men failed to find the net at all in three home outings since mid-January – beaten narrowly by Marseille (0-1) and Nantes (0-1) beforehand.
We now feel PSG will be able to capitalize on such woes at Stade Michel d’Ornano and we’ll go for an Away win to Nil, hoping to see another solid defensive setup and backing it at an enticing 13/10 with William Hill.
The visitors have been in great shape but Caen do promise a solid challenge themselves, yet to suffer a comfortable loss at home ground this term. With that in mind, we’re now also sticking our necks out for a two-goal Winning Margin on Saturday, which comes at 11/4 with Betway!
