Bury vs Port Vale Match Preview
Bury host Port Vale for their final clash of the campaign hoping to secure a top 3 spot with confidence despite an unpredictable spell of form lately, which saw them bag just two wins in eight outings and bring direct promotion to League One in danger.
Shakers have retained high team spirits at Gigg Lane, though, and beat Colchester United (2-0) and Northampton Town (3-1) in two outings since mid-April. Ryan Lowe should thus have no troubles to motivate them once again, as they look to take revenge for a 1-0 loss suffered at Vale Park earlier this term.
Port Vale have struggled to perform just as much and we’ve seen the visitors bag just one point in their last four outings, where they held off MK Dons (1-1) but suffered losses to Exeter City (2-0), Stevenage (1-4), and Macclesfield Town (0-1) along the way.
Valiants haven’t been able to keep it together at the back and this has been more than obvious as they conceded eight goals on those four occasions, which will be just as worrying ahead of the Saturday’s trip – despite no high stakes and survival long secured.
We feel Bury should have no troubles with the struggling visitors on the day and going for a Home win feels like buying money for old rope at 1/2 with bet365. We’ve seen them scoring numbers of goals here and they should be able to bounce back once again.
Port Vale have struggled to score goals and this has been their prime woe on the road, which has us backing Bury to keep a clean sheet too at 23/20 with Paddy Power. This would be their third clean sheet in six outings in front of the home fans.
