Burton vs Bournemouth Match Preview
Bournemouth have bagged two important wins over the past two weeks and now travel to Burton-upon-Trent for their League Cup clash in hope they can build on the performances, where they beat Everton (3-1) in front of the home fans and Southampton (1-3) on the road.
Cherries have taken their chances against Everton and then felt rather dominant at the Saints, as they bagged stoppage time goal from Callum Wilson sealed their first-ever win at St Mary’s. This promises Eddie Howe’s men in a great mood and looking to make it four out of four in clashes against Burton.
Burton Albion have been in a good form through the most part of August but have seen a drop more recently, sharing the spoils with Coventry City (0-0), Portsmouth (2-2), and seeing a dramatic loss to Tranmere (2-1) as the rivals bagged two stoppage time goals at Prenton Park over the weekend.
Brewers will be without both full-backs John Brayford and Colin Daniel for their trip to Pirelli Stadium, but the return of John O’Toole will mean a great boost to their defensive line. They will now hope they can bounce back quickly from their Saturday shock and cause an upset in front of the home fans.
We don’t feel they can, though, and we’ll now rather stick with Bournemouth to secure their ticket to the 8th Finals here – as we go for an Away win at 4/5 with bet365. We’ve seen the visitors in great shape lately and now hope they can keep up their goalscoring tally.
We should see goals and with hope Cherries will outgun the League One rivals in such a quest, we’re also backing Over 2.5 Goals FT at 7/10 with William Hill. Both sides have seen such clashes on the regular lately and we hope for another in the making here.
