Burton vs Barnsley Match Preview

Burton cannot really go anywhere between now and the end of the season, but that hasn’t stopped them from playing well recently. They come here on the back of three wins from their last four games, and will prove to be formidable opposition for Barnsley, who are up in second and chasing automatic promotion.

The Tykes are on a great run right now that has seen them go 20 league games unbeaten, something they will be looking to maintain here. However, they have drawn three of their last four games and while they are continuing to be strong at the back, they are missing their star striker Keiffer Moore, who has been ruled out for the season. A run of draws is likely not enough to get the second automatic promotion spot, with Portsmouth and Sunderland mounting their challenges in behind.

Barnsley have the best defensive record in the league, and prior to conceding two against Coventry at the weekend, they had kept six clean sheets in a row. We think they can get back to that kind of defensive form here, but they are struggling going forward, and missing their target man Moore.
