Burton Albion vs Leicester Match Preview
Leicester City sit 3rd placed after ten league outings as they made it their best start in a decade, bagging the biggest-ever away Premier League win as they beat Southampton (0-9) on Friday. Benjamin Chilwell and Youri Tielemans opened the scoresheet, Ayoze Perez and Jamie Vardy both bagged hat-tricks, and James Maddison added one, which certainly promises Brendan Rodgers’ men in great spirits.
Foxes have thus bagged eight wins in ten outings across competitions since late August and they sit just two points behind Man City. They made it a convincing win over Luton Town (0-4) to make it to the 8th Finals too, but we feel the visitors will not be in for an easy task now.
Burton Albion can hardly boast great consistency and their mid-table spot in League One tells just as much. They haven’t seen any two same results since draws against Coventry (0-0) and Portsmouth (2-2) mid-September but we have still seen them as a very tough nut to crack at Pirelli Stadium along the way.
Brewers conceded just two goals in their last five home outings and kept four clean sheets along the way. We’ve seen them beat Wimbledon (1-0) and hold Blackpool (0-0) in two narrow games here since early October but there’s a lot to warn Leicester against complacency on the day.
Still, we have seen Burton struggling to score goals on the regular and we feel Leicester will now be able to secure a ticket to the Quarter-finals. We’ll back them to do so in a win to Nil, which comes at 7/5 with bet365 and now feels like the best approach to the fixture.
We don’t expect as many goals now despite seeing the Foxes in a red-hot form up front. With that in mind, we’re sticking our necks out for a low-scoring contest with Under 2.5 Goals FT at 7/5 with Paddy Power and hoping for a solid challenge.
