Burnley vs Man United Match Preview
Man United have enjoyed a great moment since early December but still saw their six-match unbeaten streak ended in a disappointing display at Watford (2-0), marked by David de Gea’s blunder early in the second half. They now have a busy week on their hands as they look to bounce quickly, travelling to Burnley just days after their Boxing Day clash against Newcastle.
Red Devils beat Tottenham (2-1), Man City (1-2), AZ (4-0), and Colchester (3-0) in five games beforehand, only seeing the winning streak interrupted by Everton (1-1). Still, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer obviously has a long way to go and admits the ups and downs were to be expected this term, which adds to an overwhelming feeling of a need for consistency.
Burnley have, on the other hand, beaten Newcastle (1-0) and Bournemouth (0-1) in their last two outings and they head to Liverpool midway through the week, hoping to build on the success at Everton. They have struggled to connect winning streaks just as well, which sees them a point behind the visitors at this point.
Clarets have been scoring goals at home ground but still haven’t managed an upset or two against the big guns – something Man United surely hope to prove themselves. They have netted at least one goal in eight of their ten home outings across competitions this term, though, which does promise a strong challenge.
We will still back Man United to overcome it and we’re going for the visitors to snatch all three points despite recent struggles to retain a good run. We’ll go for an Away win at 37/40 with BetVictor, which still feels like great value.
We do hope to see an exciting contest with goals on both ends as Man United outgun the rivals to all-important points. With that in mind, we’re also going for a Yes on Both teams to score, which comes at 8/11 with Paddy Power and looks like a solid approach to the fixture as well.
