Bristol Rovers vs Coventry Match Preview
Coventry extended a nine-match unbeaten streak but hardly felt confident as they shared the spoils with Fleetwood (0-0) on Tuesday and they’ll need more to get past Birmingham after a goalless draw in FA Cup. They travel to Bristol on Saturday looking for a pick-me-up and we expect them motivated to impress.
Sky Blues have been rock-solid at the back and kept clean sheets in all of the last four outings, which will be a boost to their confidence. They failed to untangle the sides FA Cup clash in January at this ground, though, and Mark Robins will have to find a fix if his men are to snatch all three points this time around.
Bristol Rovers have struggled to turn clashes their way since mid-December and they haven’t bagged a win since, seeing FA Cup, EFL Trophy exits and earning just four points in eight League One games. They struggled to score goals on the regular and this could be even more worrying, with a desperate need for points to keep up with the top 6.
Pirates come into the match with a streak of two draws of their own, where they shared the spoils with Fleetwood (0-0) at this ground and Bolton (1-1) on the road. They have been tougher at the back lately and this surely promises another narrow contest in the making here.
We’re now hoping for a tough deadlock to break and we’ll stick our necks out for a Draw at Memorial Stadium, which comes at 5/2 with BetVictor and has caught the eye of many as the sides’ second draw at this ground in just under a month.
We should be in for thrills but we don’t really feel we’re in for many goals and we’re thus also backing Under 2.5 Goals FT at 7/10 with bet365. We’ve seen such clashes in both of the sides’ respective last two outings and we’re now just hoping for more of the same.
