Bristol City vs Derby Match Preview
Bristol City will be looking to bounce after a disappointing defeat on Friday evening going down 3-1 at home to Birmingham. Defeat end a run of four successive league victories for City who find themselves out of the play-offs on goal difference.
At Ashton Gate, the Robins have struggled of late in the Championship and have now been beaten in four of their last six in front of their own fans. Just one of the last five played at this ground has seen both teams score.
Derby picked up a rare road success at the weekend as they travelled to Liberty Stadium and emerged 3-2 victors over Swansea. It made it back-to-back league victories and three in all competitions for the East Midlands outfit who are eyeing a late run at the play-offs.
Away from Pride Park, the Rams had not won a game since the opening day of the season before they came out on top against the Swans. Both teams to score has happened in each of their last four on the road with three of these going over 2.5 goals.
The hosts are strong favourites to win this game but having lost four of their last six at home we think they should be taken on here. Derby seem to have a new life under Wayne Rooney and if they can win at Swansea are capable of getting something here. Take County and the draw in the double chance market to cover yourself.
Duane Holmes scored at the weekend and with the presence of Max Bird sitting in midfield the player is given licence to get forward to support the forward players. His goal on Saturday showed what he is capable of and they could be more of that to follow.
