Bristol City vs Birmingham Match Preview
Bristol City did not see much of the ball but did a good job in restricting QPR to limited chances as they won 1-0 at Loftus Road. It is four successive league victories and five from six for the Robins who sat sixth going into the weekend.
At Ashton Gate, the Robins last played a Championship game on January 18th when they defeated Barnsley 1-0. It is two victories from their last three at their own ground but three defeats from the past five.
Birmingham grabbed an important three points at the weekend as they saw off Nottingham Forest in a 2-1 home victory. In midweek, they were in FA Cup last 32 action against Coventry in a fixture that they drew 2-2 before coming through on penalties.
Away from St Andrew’s, the Blues last played on the 21st and battled out a draw at the Riverside with a 1-1 against Middlesbrough. It stretched their unbeaten run to three on the road and just one loss in seven for the Midlanders.
The hosts did some good business in the transfer window bringing in Nahki Wells and more bodies and they look a nice price to pick up their fifth straight victory here. Birmingham have lost just one of their last seven on the road but these have come against bottom 14 sides, when they face top ten opponents on the road they tend not to do as well.
It is four games without conceding for the Robins and while backing them to win to nil here is an option taking a home victory and under 3.5 goals looks decent enough as City are not the sort of side to hammer opponents and prefer a controlled performance if they get out in front.
