Bristol City v Birmingham City Match Preview
Bristol City saw their 13 game unbeaten run come to an end at the weekend going down 3-2 to high-flying Norwich. They face a tough run with five of their next six set to be against top-half opponents.
At Ashton Gate, the Robins have won each of their last four in the league and are unbeaten in seven. Their home defence has been strong in recent weeks conceding just three times in their last five.
Birmingham saw their winless run stretched to two as they were held at home to a 2-2 draw with Blackburn. Che Adams was once more the man of the hour as he grabbed a brace to make 21 goals for the campaign.
Away from St Andrew’s, the Blues have lost just one of their last seven with three of these finishing all-square. Che Adams has netted in each of his last six on the road and has an impressive eight in total from these half-dozen matches.
I imagine Bristol City will be a popular bet here given their recent form and they were not disgraced in losing to Norwich at the weekend. My issue is the Robins tend to be a streaky team and I want to see evidence that they can put a loss behind them so quickly so will look elsewhere to find the bets.
Under 2.5 goals is the favourite but I think given the firepower at the disposal of both sides then overs looks the way to play it. This would have paid in the last two at Ashton Gate and the last three on the road for the Blues. In addition, take both teams to find the back of the net while I could also not put anyone off backing Che Adams to net at any time.
