Brighton may be slightly better suited by an FA Cup run than West Brom this season and they are fancied to make home advantage count.

The Seagulls are having a very similar campaign to last year, keeping themselves nicely out of relegation danger in the Premier League, and therefore can afford to place some attention on going as far as they can in the FA Cup.

Last term, Brighton reached the quarter-finals before losing 2-0 away to Manchester United and they could be capable of similar progress at least this time around considering the way the draw is opening up.

West Brom, meanwhile, have a specific target elsewhere, namely gaining promotion straight back up to the top flight following last season’s relegation.

The Baggies won 2-0 at Bolton on Monday to move up to third position in the Championship, four points behind leaders Leeds, and that will only have served to sharpen their focus on getting into the top two by the end of the season.

A stronger team at home than on their travels, Brighton nevertheless won 3-1 away to Premier League rivals Bournemouth in the previous round and are not expected to waste the opportunity that victory has given them.
