Brighton vs Huddersfield Town Match Preview
Brighton could not wish for an easier fixture in which to ease their relegation worries than facing a Huddersfield Town side who probably wish the season was over already.
It’s only a matter of time before Huddersfield’s drop into the Championship is confirmed and the sole positive for their recently-appointed manager Jan Siewert – assuming he stays in charge – is that he can start learning now about what will be required in the second tier.
The Terriers’ away form has been simply dreadful since they pulled off a shock win at Wolves in November and a late consolation goal at Manchester United on Boxing Day is the only time they have found the net in their last seven games on the road.
In all honesty, Brighton’s home record since mid-December has been pretty disappointing too, although they have negotiated two FA Cup ties at the Amex Stadium against promotion-chasing Championship sides – although one needed a replay – to book a quarter-final away to Millwall.
This looks an ideal opportunity for the Seagulls to revive their home league form and put clear blue water between themselves and the relegation zone.
Chris Hughton’s side are just about a big enough price to justify a single bet in the Match Result market, but extra value can be had if you exclude 1-0 as a winning scoreline for your wager and we think Brighton can score a couple of goals against their beleaguered opponents.
