Brighton vs Everton Match Preview
Everton eased some of the pressure on manager Marco Silva when they beat West Ham at home last week – and now need to improve their poor away record dating back to the spring.
Silva is still vying for favouritism in the Premier League Sack Race market but at bigger odds than before his team’s 2-0 success against the Hammers, which lifted Everton out of the bottom three in the table.
That was a step forward. But another has to be taken in the sense of starting to win matches on the road again, otherwise the Toffees will never get to where they want to be – namely challenging for a place in the top six at the very least.
You have to go back to March to find the last time Everton won on their travels in the league and this term they have scored only one goal and collected just a solitary point when venturing beyond Merseyside.
Brighton go into the 10th round of matches one point and position behind their opponents this weekend and sure to have a decent level of confidence considering they won their latest home fixture 3-0 against Tottenham.
Until Everton re-establish themselves as a potent force on the road, we are not prepared to back them and instead the Draw is the option that appeals most in the 90-minute market.
