Brest vs Bordeaux Match Preview
Brest sit just two points behind Bordeaux as they host the 10th placed rivals for their Matchday 23 clash on Wednesday, looking to build on rock-solid records in front of the home fans and keep up with the Ligue 1 top 4 – with just a six-point gap to Lille at this point despite sitting in the bottom half of the table.
La Team Pirate come into the match with a comfortable loss at Dijon (3-0) behind them but we’ve seen a more confident side at this ground, which does promise a great challenge. They’ve only seen PSG (1-2) snatch all three points while bagging 20 out of their 28-point total here, also beating Girondins (2-0) in League Cup along the way.
Bordeaux have been more solid at the back lately and they come into the match on the back of a goalless draw against Marseille, building on a narrow 0-1 win over Nantes in late January. They will need more if they’re to cope with the top 4, though, and we feel Paulo Sousa’s men have a lot yet to prove.
Girondins have struggled to create and convert chances, where Jimmy Briand untangled the contest in Nantes with a very late winner but they hardly felt convincing. Despite thus ending a streak of four losses on the road, this will be worrying for the travelling fans as we head into another very narrow occasion in the making.
We will now back Brest to beat Bordeaux once again and we will go for a Home win at 7/5 with BetVictor, which feels like great value seeing their performances at Francis-Le Ble Stadium through most part of the campaign.
We expect a tough contest for the points and slim margins could make all the difference once again! With that in mind, we’re also hoping for few goals and we’ll back a low-scoring games with Under 2.5 Goals FT at 4/6 with bet365.
