Brentford vs Ipswich Match Preview
Brentford saw their winless run stretched to five at the weekend as three times they fought back from behind to draw 3-3 at home to Derby. They are down to 14thand the gap between them and the play-offs is 11 points . Thomas Frank is likely to use the rest of the campaign to work out what he needs for next season.
At Griffin Park, the Bees have failed to win their last two though before that they had won five straight in the league. Five of the last seven at this ground have gone over 2.5 goals with four of them going over 3.5 goals. Said Benrahma has six goals in his last home starts while Neal Maupay has five in his last seven here.
Ipswich won 2-1 at Bolton at the weekend and while it does not alter the fact the Suffolk side will go down it was a morale-boosting result. They are 13 points from safety and a defeat here or a win for sides above them means they will be relegated. Just two defeats from their last nine does show they have made some progress under Paul Lambert.
Away from Portman Road, The Tractor Boys are now unbeaten in four with one victory and three of them finishing all-square. They have 14 road goals this season which along with Rotherham is the lowest in the division. Collin Quaner grabbed a brace in the last fixture and he has three goals in his last three appearances.
It is hard to argue with the prices on offer here given that Brentford are the stronger side though we would not be rushing to back them at those odds. A better way to get with the home side is to take the Bees to win and both teams to score as Town have netted in each of their last four on the road which includes trips to West Brom and Bristol City.
If the visitors do score we think it is likely to come from Collin Quaner who has three in his last three including a brace at the weekend and he gets the nod to net at any time here while the Bees pair of Neal Maupay and Said Benrahma also are worth considering.
