Werder Bremen vs Stuttgart Match Preview
Stuttgart have struggled to cope and find themselves just points clear of the Bundesliga rock-bottom as they travel to Bremen for their Matchday 23 clash on Friday evening, struggling to keep it together at the back and finding it hard to capitalize on the goals scored.
Die Roten have seen a thriller loss to RB Leipzig (1-3) last week and saw their sixth loss in seven Bundesliga outings since mid-December, only holding Freiburg to a 2-2 draw in the process – which will hardly feel like a great confidence booster either as Markus Weinzierl has to find a cure for their defensive woes.
Werder Bremen have seen a contrasting spell of form and picked it up since the winter break, where they beat Hannover 96 (0-1), Borussia Dortmund (on penalties after a 3-3 DFB Pokal draw), and Augsburg (4-0) but also held Eintracht Frankfurt (2-2), Nurnberg (1-1), and most recently Hertha (1-1) to draws along the way.
Die Werderaner have been netting numbers of goals in front of the home fans and we’ll now surely see them very motivated to build on such a streak, desperate to join the thrilling Bundesliga chase for the spots leading to Europa League next term – hoping to capitalize on the rivals’ woes.
We will back Bremen to do just that and we’ll go for a Home win here at 8/15 with Paddy Power, which feels like buying money for old rope seeing their current spell of form and ambitions to join the top 4 midway through the campaign.
Stuttgart have struggled to regularly score goals on the road and with that in mind, we hope to see Die Werderaner basing such success on shutting them down as well – where we go for them to keep a clean sheet too at 6/4 with William Hill.
