Brazil vs Peru Match Preview
Copa America finalists Brazil and Peru meet at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum midway through the week, having failed to earn real confidence boosters last week and now looking to pick it up as the International break comes to an end – with the obvious need for consistency towards late 2019.
Brazil have seen an exciting 2-2 draw against Colombia on Saturday, as goals from Casemiro and Neymar saw them extend a 17-match unbeaten streak across competitions, and will now be looking to build on such a goalscoring performance if nothing else. They’ve impressed at Copa America and bouncing to the winning ways will surely be an important task.
Peru have seen a long Copa America journey end in a disappointing 3-1 loss to Canarinho and they’ve failed to bounce in a friendly against Ecuador (0-1) last week, where a single goal from Erick Castillo early in the second half made all the difference. They’ve been dominant through most part of the game but failed the reap the rewards, which will be more worrying for Ricardo Gareca.
La Blanquirroja have proven themselves a tough side to beat and will surely want to do the same in Los Angeles despite no high stakes to play for this time around. They have struggled to convert chances with many changes in the lineup, though, and we feel they could have a hard time doing so against Brazil as well.
We will thus back Brazil to extend a lengthy unbeaten streak with a win to Nil in Los Angeles, which comes at 13/10 with Ladbrokes and has caught the eye of many in the know already – as Tite has to emphasize stability at the back once again.
Still, Peru have been solid at the back and we’ve seen them show off on many occasions. With that in mind, we hope to see a tough challenge and not too many goals despite an exhibition many expect, as we also go for Under 2.5 Goals FT at 23/20 with bet365 as a solid approach to the fixture by itself.
