Braga vs Rangers Match Preview
Rangers saw their troubled defensive performances on the road prove costly once again as they were held to a 2-2 draw by St Johnstone over the weekend, travelling to Braga for the return of their Europa League clash on Wednesday in hope they can do more and keep hold of an advantage earned in front of the home fans.
Gers completed a late comeback as they beat the Portuguese rivals after going two down, as Ianis Hagi scored a brace and Joe Aribo added one in the last half-hour. Steven Gerrard surely has a lot on his mind, though, after his men were denied points in all of their last three Premiership trips and only interrupted the winless streak with a 1-4 win at Hamilton in FA Cup.
Braga have shown what they’re made of and they promise more of the same here, coming into the match on the back of a confident 3-1 win over Vitoria Setubal. They’ve been rock-solid in front of the home fans lately and bagged five wins and a draw in their last six outings here, which promises just as much.
Archbishops beat Sporting Lisbon twice and Porto along the way and while they’ve been conceding more goals lately, we now hope to see them in a great mood – looking to capitalize on two away goals scored last week. Micael Sequeira has a lot to be happy about but will now want another pick-me-up.
We do feel they have what it takes and we’ll now back Braga to make their way to the 8th Finals, going for them to Qualify at 19/20 with William Hill despite a similarly exciting contest in the making on Wednesday afternoon.
We do expect goals and Rangers will not just want to keep it together at the back despite the advantage they’re bringing to Braga. With that in mind, we’re going for a high-scoring contest once again with Over 2.5 Goals FT at Evens with William Hill.
