Bournemouth vs Everton Match Preview
Bournemouth are doing little to dismiss our previously stated notion that they need to be careful to avoid a relegation fight this term, and we are backing them to lose to Everton.
The Cherries lost 19 of their final 30 league and cup matches last season and this campaign has begun no better, for apart from a 2-1 win away to Aston Villa there have been more negatives than positives.
Eddie Howe’s rotated team could not even win at home to League Two side Forest Green in the Carabao Cup, needing a penalty shootout to advance, and one of the very few plus points has been the bright start made by on-loan Liverpool forward Harry Wilson with two goals.
Everton may still lack a touch of consistency as they have mixed in a 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa with a trio of victories including their Carabao Cup opener, and it is slightly worrying in the context of this game that they have failed to score an away goal in the league so far.
But there is mitigation for the Toffees in that their new signings, some of whom joined on the eve of the season, are only just bedding in and now look to be making the improvement expected of them.
Alex Iwobi in particular is starting to make an impact and with the Nigeria international and Richarlison both among the goals in Everton’s last two games, Marco Silva’s side are fancied to be too good for Bournemouth.
