These two have only ever met twice before. Finland won the only competitive meeting back in June during this qualifying group, while Bosnia won the first meeting which was a friendly back in 2004.
A huge game in Bosnia on Saturday night, there is no other way to describe this other than a must-win game for the hosts. They were favourites to qualify behind Italy for the Euro 2020 finals next summer, but things haven’t gone to plan so far. As expected, Italy are ahead but Finland are the team chasing them, with Bosnia five points behind. Coming into the weekend we have four games to go, this is as close to a must win as it can get for Bosnia, they cannot afford to slip up.
While Bosnia have been disappointing, we must give credit to Finland for how they have played throughout this group so far, with four wins from six games. They certainly weren’t expected to do that, and a win here would move them eight points clear of Bosnia with three games to go, all but putting them into the finals.
However, we are not so sure that will happen. This is do or die for Bosnia, and we fancy them to rise to the occasion. We have not seen them at their best so far, but they do have the quality to comfortably beat Finland. We are backing them to do so, and also backing over 2.5 goals in what should be a pretty open game.
