Bosnia-Herzegovina vs Italy Match Preview
Bosnia-Herzegovina have all but lost their chances of a top 2 spot in Group J as they host Italy for their Matchday 9 clash on Friday, sitting five points behind 2nd placed Finland after seeing Greece (2-1) snatch the points with a very late winner and their woes away from home continue.
Dragons have been more confident in front of the home fans, though, and will hope to keep up such a streak – after beating Armenia (2-1), Liechtenstein (5-0), Finland (4-1) and holding Greece to a thriller 2-2 draw along the way. They have been scoring numbers of goals here and will surely want to bid their farewell against group dominants in good spirits.
Italy have secured their ticket to the final tournament and they travel to Zenica on the back of an eight-match winning streak, where they proved their worth despite some very narrow occasions along the way – including a 2-1 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina in front of the home crowd back in June.
Azzurri beat Greece (2-0) and Liechtenstein (0-5) quite convincingly in their two October outings and Roberto Mancini will want to keep hold of such consistency despite no high stakes involved. Still, we feel they’re in for a great challenge and this could mean first points dropped in the Qualifiers.
We will thus stick our necks out for Bosnia-Herzegovina to hold off the rivals and go for a Draw, which comes at 5/2 with William Hill and will still hardly have the crowd and Robert Prosinecki’s men satisfied after the final whistle.
We do feel they’ll have to score goals to pull it off and with that in mind, we’re also backing a Yes on Both teams to score at 4/6 with William Hill. We’ve seen Dragons scoring on the regular here and Italy boast a great goalscoring spell of form of their own.
