Borussia Monchengladbach v Freiburg Match Preview
Borussia Monchengladbach snatched all three points at Mainz (0-1) with a single goal from Nico Elvedi, bouncing back from a four-match winless streak ahead of their Matchday 26 clash desperate for points to build on their top 4 Bundesliga spot towards late in the campaign.
Die Fohlen have thus picked it up but have a lot to prove, after seeing Hertha (0-3), Wolfsburg (0-3), and Bayern Munich (1-5) all bag the points at Borussia-Park in a very convincing manner. They will now need more and hope the visitors will not be the same sort of a challenge either.
Freiburg come into the match on a high after beating Hertha (2-1) in a thrilling contest last week as they earned their second win in three outings. However, struggles for consistency in the final third should give Christian Streich a lot to work on ahead of the fixture as well.
Breisgau-Brasilianer have struggled for points on the road and we’ve obviously seen them lose faith with a goalless draw at Schalke and a 2-0 loss at Bayer Leverkusen on their last two trips. They will now want to build on a mid-table spot but we don’t see them doing so on Friday.
We will thus back Borussia Monchengladbach to secure all three points and go for a Home win at 4/7 with William Hill, which feels like buying money for old rope with Freiburg’s struggles to impress away from the home.
We still expect the visitors to find the net and we’ll thus also go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 8/11 with Paddy Power, hoping for another thrilling contest and the sides’ third consecutive head-to-head clash despite different ambitions and depth in quality at this point.
