Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham Hotspur Match Preview
Tottenham Hotspur have put themselves in a fantastic position to reach the Champions League quarter-finals and are expected to complete the job on their trip to Germany.
Spurs only scraped into the knockout stage by the narrowest margin but look to be taking full advantage of their opportunity as three goals without reply from Heung-min Son, Jan Vertonghen and Fernando Llorente at Wembley have put them in full control of this tie.
They will surely qualify at the expense of a Dortmund team that have just been caught on 54 points at the top of the Bundesliga table by Bayern Munich following a 2-1 defeat at Augsburg on Friday, which made it only one win in seven matches in all competitions.
In fairness, Spurs’ Premier League form has also taken a downturn with only one point garnered from a possible nine having left them firmly in the battle to finish in the top four rather than for the title itself.
Dortmund are still scoring plenty of goals at home, but the problem is they are also conceding them – eight in their last three games at the Westfalenstadion and no clean sheet in six – which looks to give Spurs a strong chance of not only going through but also avoiding defeat on the night.
