Borussia Dortmund vs Schalke Match Preview
Borussia Dortmund saw a thrashing 5-0 loss at Bayern Munich in early April and have been chasing the Bundesliga pace-setters since then, bagging two wins in their last two outings and still sitting just a point behind – with four games left to be played.
BVB have beaten Mainz (2-1) in a narrow return to the winning ways and outclassed Freiburg (0-4) in a more convincing display at Schwarzwald-Stadion, where Sancho, Reus, Gotze, and Paco Alcacer all found the net. They will now want to keep it up and challenge Bayern once again, which promises them in a great mood.
Schalke sit on the other end of the table but they’ve escaped the immediate danger zone, sitting six points clear of 16th placed Stuttgart as they travel to Signal Iduna Park. They’ve seen troubles across competitions, though, and now need a pick-me-up but earning it in Dortmund will be no easy task.
Die Konigsblauen have seen a DFB Pokal exit in the hands of Werder Bremen (0-2) and earned just one point in three Bundesliga outings since, where they suffered losses to Eintracht Frankfurt (1-2), Hoffenheim (2-5), and only held troubled Nurnberg to a 1-1 draw along the way – despite finding the net on all of the occasions.
We will now back Borussia Dortmund to capitalize on such woes on the rivals’ end too, as we stick our necks out for a Home win and a Yes on Both teams to score at 8/5 with William Hill.
With that in mind, it’s even easier to make a case for a high-scoring contest on Saturday, as we also back Over 2.5 Goals FT at 8/15 with bet365. We’ve seen both sides enjoy such clashes lately and this has been rated a banker bet by many in the know already.
