Bordeaux vs Lyon Match Preview
Bordeaux kept out of the danger zone in Ligue 1 mainly for their performances in front of the home fans but losses at St Etienne (3-0) and Nimes (2-1) still comes as a great disappointment for Paulo Sousa’s men – especially after taking the lead early at Stade des Costieres last week.
Les Girondins now host Lyon looking for a quick fix and would surely rather build on a 2-0 win over Marseille seen at this ground beforehand, having proven themselves a very tough side to score against on many occasions here.
Lyon have more to play for and travel to Stade Matmut-Atlantique just points clear of the chasers as they look to close the six-point gap to 2nd placed Lille. They’ve beaten Angers (2-1) with goals from Memphis Depay and Martin Terrier over the weekend, but only ended a three-match losing streak that way.
Les Gones have seen Rennes (2-3) knock them out of Coupe de France and dropped important points to both Dijon (1-3) and Nantes (2-1) along the way, where defensive troubles prove very worrying despite finding the net on the regular with a very tough schedule to follow.
Still, we feel Lyon will be able to build on the positives and we’ll now stick with them to cause an upset in Bordeaux, where an Away win comes at 7/10 with William Hill and has caught the eye of many in the know already.
However, seeing them conceding goals on the regular has us keeping faith we’re in for another thriller on their part, as we now also back a Yes on Both teams to score at 7/10 with William Hill – which feels like an even better approach to the fixture at this point.
