Bolton vs Middlesbrough Match Preview
Bolton suffered a disappointing 2-1 home loss to Ipswich at the weekend that has put a massive hole in their survival hopes. They are second bottom but the gap between them and Reading in 21stis now eight points. Wanderers now face a difficult trio of fixtures with each of their next three coming against top eight opponents.
At the University of Bolton Stadium, the Trotters have taken just four points from their last seven matches and the last time they beat a top-half side here was the end of September. Four of the last five here have gone over 2.5 goals while each of the last seven has gone over 1.5. Four of the last six in front of their own fans have seen both teams net.
Middlesbrough suffered a sixth consecutive defeat at the weekend and stretched their winless run to seven with a 3-1 road loss to Swansea. It means that they have dropped into eighth and are four points from the play-offs. A lack of goals is a major issue with just three bagged from their previous seven fixtures.
Away from the Riverside, they are without a victory in the last three in the league and have lost four of six in all competitions. The Teesiders did have the best road defence in the Championship but they have now conceded six times on their last two road trips. Britt Assombalonga has three in his last five on the road while George Saville has two in five.
The visitors could not asked if a better side to get back to winning ways against though at the prices on offer you would not want to be trusting Middlesbrough. I can see why people will be backing the visitors but it is not for me.
Goals could be the order of the day here with four of the last five at this ground going over 2.5 goals and a draw doing neither side any favours. I would recommend going over and also taking yes in the both teams to score market.
