Bolton vs Brentford Match Preview
Bolton slumped to a fifth successive defeat on Easter Monday going down 2-0 away to Lancashire rivals Blackburn. It completed a miserable Easter for them that saw them lose both games and have their relegation confirmed. Next season they will play in League One but they will at least be saved from off-field issues.
At the University of Bolton Stadium, the Trotters have lost their last four and seven of the previous nine. They have failed to score in four of their last six in front of their own fans and netted just three from these five. Their 13 home goals this season is the lowest of any side in the Championship.
Brentford put in an excellent performance on Easter Monday as they beat Leeds 2-0 to put a major hole in the promotion plans of their opponents. The result continued a decent Easter that saw them take four points. They sit in 15th and will hope that next season will be a better one for them.
Away from Griffin Park, the Bees are without a win in five and have managed to win on just two occasions this season. They are struggling for goals on the road having netted just two from their last five fixtures. Seven of the last nine Brentford have played away from their own place in the Championship have seen a total of exactly two or three goals.
Bookmakers make Brentford strong favourites to win the game and while it is hard to argue with those prices it is hard to trust a side with nothing to play for and with a poor record on the road. We prefer to look elsewhere to find value and with the Bees flying going forward it might pay to look at their attackers in this fixture.
Sergi Canos made one and scored one against Leeds and got into some great positions and the Spaniard looks value to net here while we also think taking him to score two or more against a Bolton side who look out on their feet is a decent value call.
