Bolton vs AFC Wimbledon Match Preview
Bolton picked it up in front of the home fans and finally got to a positive point balance as they beat MK Dons (1-0) midway through November but we’ve seen them fail to build on the success as Keith Hill’s men suffered a thrashing 7-1 loss at Accrington Stanley last time out – where Daryl Murphy opened the scoresheet but it soon all came crashing down.
Wanderers have beaten Man City U21 (3-1), Fleetwood Town (2-1), and only saw Plymouth (0-1) interrupt their winning streak at University of Bolton Stadium. They will now hope to build on such performances in a contest that could prove crucial for their survival battle, as things stand now.
AFC Wimbledon have, on the other hand, beaten Gillingham (1-0) and ended a six-match winless streak across competitions – which saw them out of FA Cup, EFL Trophy, and earning just one point in three league outings. Glyn Hodges has struggled to find a cure for their woes on the road and this will be just as worrying now.
Dons will hope Bolton will not be the same sort of a challenge after seeing Burton (1-0), Southend (3-1), Blackpool (2-0), and Doncaster (2-0) all beat them since late October. They’ve struggled to create chances and convert them, which promises a narrow occasion in the making on Saturday afternoon as well.
We feel Bolton will have what it takes to confirm their form of recent and bag all three points here, as we go for a Home win at 5/4 with William Hill and hope to see them turn a tight contest their way at University of Bolton Stadium.
We haven’t seen them scoring many goals either, though. With that in mind, we’re hoping to see slim margins and few goals on the day, going for Under 2.5 Goals FT at 7/10 with BetVictor. We’ve seen such games in both of Bolton’s last two outings here as well as the Dons’ last two trips.
