Bolton picked up a vital three points in midweek to boost their survival hopes as they won 1-0 at Birmingham thanks to a Callum Connolly goal. The result moved them to 23rd and three points off Reading in 21st place.

At the University of Bolton Stadium, the Trotters are four without a victory losing two and drawing two. They have managed just 11 goals at their own place this campaign which is the third lowest in the division.

Norwich suffered only their second defeat in their last 20 as despite being the better side on the expected goals data they still lost 3-1 to Preston. This means they are down to second in the table a point behind Leeds and two above Sheffield United.

Away from Carrow Road, the Canaries defeat in midweek ended a 13 match unbeaten run in the Championship on the road. Teemu Pukki has netted in his last two and three of his last five on the road.

It is hard to argue with the odds on offer here which make Norwich favourites to win the game as the table shows they are clearly the stronger side. They are through much too short to be backing and it is better to look elsewhere for the value.

I am going to take a play that the hosts can keep the visitors out for a while and say Wanderers can keep a clean sheet for the first 45 minutes. Preston showed a template to frustrate City and while I think Norwich will come good in the end I like this bet. This also leads to the second 45 minutes being the highest scoring half for the Canaries.
