Bohemians vs Chelsea Match Preview
Chelsea travel to Dublin as they open the pre-season campaign with Frank Lampard’s first clash in charge against Bohemians at Dalymount Park, where they hope to kick it off in good spirits and surely outclass Bohs in an attempt to show off as great dominants odds suggest them to be.
Blues are expected to show up with a rotated line-up as both Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus Cheek sit out with injuries, Antonio Rudiger and N’Golo Kante both expected to do the same after suffering more recent knee and ankle injuries, respectively. We expect Mateo Kovacic leading the midfield, while Tiemoue Bakayoko, Michy Batshuayi, and Kurt Zouma are all expected to get a chance under Lampard too.
Bohemians will, on the other hand, be looking to put on a show and show off as a tough nut to crack – something they’ve been showing in front of the home fans late May through June. They’ve bagged three wins and a draw in last four outings here and will surely be in better form, seeing their Premier Divison campaign is all but in closing stages.
Bohs have been scoring goals on the regular and two goalless draws behind them, where they shared the spoils with Derry City and Cork City, are rather unconventional for Keith Long and his men. We thus now hope for more excitement and goals at Dalymount Park this time around in a pre-season clash worth watching.
We will thus back Chelsea to turn an exciting contest their way and we’ll go for an Away win and a Yes on Both teams to score here, which combines to an eye-catching 8/5 with bet365 as Blues are yet to prove their defensive consistency after the break.
We hope to see Batshuayi leading the attacking line and he should be very motivated to impress, which has us backing the Belgian forward to score anytime on Wednesday evening. He’s been in solid form late last term and now has a lot to prove if he’s to earn a spot in Chelsea.
