Blackpool vs Maidstone Match Preview
Blackpool have seen their seven-match unbeaten streak ended in the 2nd Round of EFL Trophy, as Scunthorpe snatched a 1-3 win at Bloomfield Road on Wednesday evening. They will now hope to bounce quickly against the National League South rivals in FA Cup and make it to the 3rd Round for the third time in four years.
Seasiders bagged four consecutive wins in front of the home fans since early November and we’ve seen them beat Peterborough (4-3), Wolves U21 (1-0), Morecambe (4-1), and AFC Wimbledon (2-0) along the way. The fans will now surely hope Maidstone will not be the same sort of a challenge and we do too.
Maidstone have made their way past Torquay United (1-0) in the 1st Round and managed a three-match unbeaten streak against Dartford since, holding them off in the league (2-2) and beating them in FA Trophy (0-1) in a replay on the road after another 2-2 draw first time out.
Stones have been scoring goals on the regular and will now surely be no sitting ducks but coping with League One rivals should prove a different task altogether. They’ve been led by in-form Daniel Wishart and Matthew McClure up front, which will have John Still hoping for more of the same now.
However, we don’t feel they’ll be able to deny Blackpool at this point and we’ll now go for the home side to turn an exciting game their way with both sides confirming fine form up front, as we back a Home win and Over 2.5 Goals FT at 8/11 with Paddy Power.
We thus hope to see Maidstone motivated for an upset despite the odds against them. We’ve seen them find the net in all of their last ten trips and we hope they can do so now, as we go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 4/5 with BetVictor.
