Blackburn suffered a third straight league defeat in midweek going down to a 1-0 road loss at Reading. They are now down in 14th place and the gap between them and the play-offs is up to eight points.

At Ewood Park, Rovers lost last time out but did win the three matches prior to that one and have lost just three here all season. Just one of their last five at their own place have seen both teams net.

Middlesbrough will be looking to bounce back from a 1-0 loss at Sheffield United in midweek that saw them drop to sixth. This marked only the second time in their last 12 that the Teesiders had not netted at least once.

Away from the Riverside, Boro had been unbeaten in four before Wednesday but it is still just two defeats from their last 12 on the road. Britt Assombalonga has three from his last two starts on the road.

Blackburn are the outsiders here which is likely based on the respective league positions of both sides. I would lean more to the home side of the three options but think better value can be found elsewhere.

Two of the last three the visitors have played on the road have gone over 2.5 goals while the hosts are capable of getting among the goals themselves and as such I think at the outsider of two this looks value. I also like for the same reasons both teams to score while combining them in a double also has potential.
