Birmingham lost 1-0 at Wigan in midweek make it three successive defeats and four from their last six games. For the second successive game the result was harsh on the second city outfit who deserved at least a point.
At St Andrew’s, the Blues have been decent with two victories (over Stoke and Barnsley), a draw (with Bristol City) and a defeat (to Preston). Lukas Jutkiewicz has netted three times in four home appearances this season.
Middlesbrough drew 1-1 at home to Preston in midweek that put to an end a two-game losing run but means it is three without a victory. A 42nd minute own-goal gave them a share of the points that was the least their performance deserved.
Away from the Riverside, the Teesiders are winless having suffered two defeats (at Cardiff and Blackburn) and grabbbed two draws (with Bristol City and Luton). Britt Assombalonga has netted two goals in his last four on the road.
It is hard to argue with the prices on offer here with marginal preference for Birmingham given their home form and the road form of the visitors.
